Innovation

The Process

The best names on the Internet rarely change, only the frequency with which they become available for registration or acquisition changes. NAmedia’s names have been cultivated over nearly ten years using tried and proven criteria. We have constantly upgraded our methodology, dictionaries, scans and master-lists to identify the most important names on the Web and catalog their registration timeline. As these names expire, become discarded, or sold by their former owners; we employ sophisticated software to track their movements and then deploy capital in an attempt to acquire them at sale or auction. As the Internet evolved, it has become much more difficult and costly to acquire the best domain names. Even names which would historically have been viewed as lower-quality have dramatically increased in price, despite a difficult Worldwide economic environment. Education has brought a general acceptance of the value a good domain name can bring to individuals and corporations. Our ten years of experience in this field and relentless refinement of our criteria has helped NAmedia build an acquisition process second to none.

The Strategy

While exact details of our acquisition strategy are private, our desire is to identify and acquire the best generic domain names and phrases which have value, meaning and resonance to many people. Like the old philosophical saw of “a tree falling in the forest with no-one there to hear it”, anyone can make up a meaningless domain name today and use it in commerce. Meaningful names on the traveled path are constantly registered and valuable because they have importance and meaning, to many different people. The name Patois.com for example can be used to sell software, fashion, homes, nearly anything because it is generic and meaningful in different ways. A descriptive name such as CeilingFans.com is without peer because it defines an entire industry. Our strategy is to acquire the domain names which capture the hearts and minds of people, regardless of topic. We don’t differentiate between brandable variants such as Cuti.com or a monster generic name like CrosswordPuzzles.com. NAmedia acquires the names which move and motivate people in the same way you were motivated to come to our website today.
